So come on over - Party time: from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.
Last Thursday October 23, 2014, everyone seemed to be having a fabulous time. There were almost 40 dancers there, dancing to the music of DJ Leo. The seven photos below show a part of the story. (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):
THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (OCTOBER 23, 2014):
There were line dances galore - including non-stop from six to seven PM. Above, the folks were dancing to one of this year's favorites, "Bachata Risma".
And lots of ballroom dances. This was Gigi dancing the cha cha "Enamorada" with Nickie. Gigi came with her 85-year-old mother-in-law who was dancing, too.
When the rumba "Reloj" came on I spotted Nene and Jake dancing to it.
Next to them, Gloria and Florita were also dancing to the rumba.
And, continuing around the dance floor, I found Josie and Gino dancing to the "Reloj" rumba.
A few minutes later, Ly was out on the dance floor with DJ Eric DeLeon, who was enjoying one of his very infrequent nights at Point Point Joint.
As we approached the 10pm closing time, the dancers got more energetic. There was a loud and spirited sing-along to "Bakit Pa". And, many ladies (and Romy) lined up to shake to "Let's Twist Again" in the photo above.
On Thursday we had lots of fun with other ballroom dance songs like "The Right Thing That We Do" (waltz), "I Saw Her Standing There" (boogie - East Coast Swing), and one of my favorites "Mi Bom Bon" (salsa). And, the women loved the line dances including: "Blurred Lines", "Bajo La Luna", and a revival of "Blame It On The Bossa Nova".
It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more. For this weeks' HALLOWEEN DANCE PARTY on Thursday (October 30, 2014), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) This is the best nighttime dancing in San Diego on Thursday nights - they are private parties, and this is your invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego. While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance. Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instruction while others dance makes this the best ballroom dance in San Diego.
