Dancing at Point Point this Thursday April 10, 2014

Calling All Dancers,

  Come on down to Point Point this Thursday night, April 10, 2014.  This is your invitation to another fun-filled Dance Time Party 6 to 10pm. DJ Mel Zaragoza will play swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING!  Join the crowd for this last Thursday night party at Point Point before Easter - no dance party on Holy Thursday April 17th. Point Point will offer us dancers their great $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.) 

  25 dance-party people showed up last Thursday (April 3rd).  We had lots of fun especially when Estrelle showed up with Soli and Nene, one or both of them being 1st-timers - details & nine photos are below.

Wait!  Let's back-up a bit to Tuesday April 1st at Nina's line dancing.  Here we see twelve dancers, five of them being first-timers, Ruby, Merlyn, Angie, Dolly and Norma.  "Bilando Boogaloo" was one of the favorites.

OK, then Thursday night, first of all I saw DJ Mel dancing a night club 2-step with Susie.

Here's Bert Alota dancing with Suzanne.

A few minutes later, Zeny was dancing to a boogie with Jake.

And, on the very next song, "Crazy", Nene was dancing with Jake.

A few minutes later, the master of the dip, Bert Alota, dipped Mona during a cha cha.

Estrelle brought Nene and Soli to the dance.

Line dances. Line dances.  I can't keep up with them all.  Here the ladies are enjoying one of their new current favorites, "Beguine Per Sognare".

There was great dancing right to closing time.  Here we see Suzanne in front on "Bachata Risma". 


It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point with line dances and ballroom dances like swing like Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this weeks' Dance Party on Thursday (April 10th), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Other Notes: (1) The Thursday night dance parties are private parties, and this is the invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego.  There are dancers who are happy to give free dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
