Hi Dance & Party People,
It will be another great dance party this Thursday night at Point Point Joint, October 2, 2014. This is YOUR INVITATION to be there. The spectacular DJ Bing will be playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING! Point Point will offer us dancers their delicious $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink. (More details below.). So come on over - Party time: from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.
Last Thursday September 25, 2014, nearly 50 dancers were at the dance party, thanks in part to about a dozen camera-shy 1st-timers. Everyone enjoyed dancing to the music of DJ Leo. The six photos below show part of the story.

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (SEPTEMBER 25, 2014):
Line dances were in abundance, especially from 6pm - 7pm. Above, around eight thirty it was time for "Let's Groove Tonight". That's Gloria in the center.
The very next song was "Beguine Per Sognare" line dance. Yes, Bert Alota was back, and he is in the center in the photo above.
And, there were plenty of ballroom dances. Dancing the bachata, above it was Tito and Gloria.
Right next to them were Beth and the venerable Bert Andrade.
We gave a big welcome to Jojo. It had been about a year since she was last at Thursday night at Point Point Joint. Above, she's dancing a bachata with Tito.
Edith's daughter Lala and hubby Art were there with their daughter Tassja and friend Lian. I got to dance with them - in the photo above I was dancing Manila Swing with Tassja.
We had lots of fun dancing to "ballroom" dance songs like "Why" (swing), "Red Hot" (boogie - East Coast Swing), and "Ave Maria Lola" (salsa). And, the women loved the line dances including: "Carinito", "Mamita Mia", and "Jamaican Love".
It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more. For this weeks' Dance Party on Thursday (October 2, 2014), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.
With DJ Mel Zaragoza taking a vacation in the Philippines, here's the plan for the next few weeks at Point Point:
Thursday October 2, 2014 6-10pm, DJ Bing
Thursday October 9, 2014 6-10pm, DJ Leo
Thursday October 16, 2014 6-10pm, DJ Bing Villafuerte, 858-610-7514
Thursday October 23, 2014 6-10pm, DJ Leo
See you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith

P.S. Other Notes: (1) This is the best Thursday night dance in San Diego - they are private parties, and this is your invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego. While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance. Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instruction while others dance makes this the best free dance lesson in San Diego.

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (SEPTEMBER 18, 2014):
There was no shortage of line dances, especially from 6pm - 7pm. Above, around eight thirty it was time for "Mamita Mia", with Florita, Gloria and Medy in front.
Later, just before closing time, line dancers were out dancing to "Blurred Lines", with Gloria and Edith in front.
And, there were plenty of ballroom dances. I went around the dance floor snapping pictures during "Suavemente". Above, it was Gloria and Tito.
Then, I found Mona and Gino dancing the "Suavemente" merengue.
And, Nene and Jake (above) were also enjoying the merengue.
Eva and Dwayne were looking good dancing to a bachata. Eva wore a unique diamond-coated head band.
What else did we have fun dancing to? "Tequila" (boogie), "You Should Be Dancing" (swing), and "I Need To Know" (cha cha & tango) were all fun. The "C" line dances were all popular: "Caballero", "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", "Carinito", "Chilly Cha Cha", and "Cowboy Cumbia".

Summer Dance Thursday Night at Point Point Joint Sept. 18, 2014
OK Dance-Party Goers,
We're not getting any break from the late summer heat yet, so let's enjoy one more dance party before Fall this Thursday night at Point Point Joint, September 18, 2014. This is YOUR INVITATION to be there. The DJ will be the fabulous DJ Bing, playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING! Point Point will offer us dancers their delicious $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink. (More details below.). So come on over - Party time: from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.
Last Thursday September 11, 2014, nearly 40 dancers enjoyed another warm dance party, as everyone enjoyed dancing to the music of returning DJ Leo Dulce. The six photos below show part of the story. (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):
THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (SEPTEMBER 11, 2014):
DJ Mel Zaragoza and Susie (dancing a bachata above) are taking a two-month "vacation" in the Philippines, so we wished them a safe and fun trip. You can see DJ Leo Dulce behind them.
Lots of line dances, especially from 6pm - 7pm. Above, around eight o'clock it was time for "Blurred Lines". Esther is in front.
Later, line dancers were out dancing to "Conchita". It was the first time that I saw that great cha cha being line danced. It's getting tough to find a good recording that's not a line dance.
We welcomed Oscar for the first time in maybe a year at Thursday night at Point Point Joint. He's dancing above with Penny to the merengue "Mares De Emocion". There were some first-timers to Thursday night at Point Point Joint on the dance floor, too.
And there was glamor on the dance floor. Above it was Gloria and Florita dancing to a tango.
SPECIAL MOMENTS. Above, Nene was celebrating her birthday. Regarding a couple more serious or sad things, Nina led a tribute to the 3,000 or so victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 plane crashes on the East Coast, and Nina led the dancers in a moment of silent prayer for my Edith's oldest grandson who passed away on Aug. 29, 2014.

The DJ is probably Leo, but whoever it is will be playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING! Point Point will offer us dancers their delicious $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink. (More details below.). So come on over - Party time: from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.
Last Thursday September 4, 2014, nearly 40 dancers enjoyed another warm and dance party. It turned out to be the grand debut of DJ Bing Villafuertes at Point Point. THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (SEPTEMBER 4, 2014):
We had lots of line dances. In the photo above, Cely and Esther are in front on "Stuck On You".
We were happy to welcome Ruth, a regular dancer with 32nd Street Dancers, here dancing to "Hernando's Hideaway" tango with Gino. Ruth came with about 10 of her friends, many for their first experience at Point Point Joint.
A special event - Nina's retirement AND birthday party. Here she is admiring a surprise cake from Cora Anderson and the Fil-Am Unity Group dancers.
Here we see Lou dancing with the venerable Bert Andrade.
The floor was packed for "Bachata Risma" line dance, and Ressie, Florita and Gloria were in front in this photo.
Above, Josie and Mark were enjoying dancing to a rumba.
"Carinito" continues to be a favorite line dance. About quitting time even Royce and Maria got up to dance to it. That's Eva on the left.
