CINCO DE MAYO & MEXICAN NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Eastlake Thursday May 2, 2024

Hello Dancers,  

  You are invited to a CINCO DE MAYO & MEXICAN NIGHT DANCE PARTY this coming Thursday May 2, 2024, at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista, with the incredible DJ Bing Villafuerte. There'll be lots of dancing, fun, food, and beverages. It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share. Cinco de Mayo & Mexican-attired winners vie for prizes. DJ Bing will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.  A mild and dry night is currently forecast.

  DIRECTIONS: Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive.  The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.

A DANCE PARTY was at Eastlake this past Thursday, April 25th, with DJ Bing Villafuerte, on a mild and dry night.  There were almost 60 in attendance, thanks in part to 3 first-timers, and visiting V.I.P. dancers Bert and Lennie Velasco.  At one point Bert Velasco taught a foxtrot line dance to the dancers.   LADIES BY EASTLAKE.  Early birds Valerie, Alice, Janet, Edith and Nora posed lakeside in the photo above, before the dance started.

 

 

  BEFORE EATING, dancers posed for the group photo above. Nedy gave a blessing for the food, and thankfulness for bringing us all together.

 

 

  LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6pm to 7pm, and after the blessing for about 20 minutes, until ballroom and line dancing alternated until the end of the party.  This photo was about 7:15 and was probably "It's My Soul" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlQyXUoLe80 ).

 

 

  "THE RING GIRLS", an all-V.I.P. line up, were holding the signs with the schedule for upcoming Eastlake dances. We see Angie, Florita, Lennie, and first-timer Regina.

 

 

  SPECIAL PERFORMANCE.  "The Eastlake Dancers" performed a special cowboy line dance called "Cowboy Style"  ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk7jQo8B-7E ).  They were Lolit, Irish and Valerie in front, followed by Merely and Liz, with Eva, Roland (hidden) and Mary Jane in back.

 

 

 BALLROOM DANCING was in abundance. Faye and John danced in Nedy's selfie photo above.  It looks like it was a swing dance.

  It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights with line dances and ballroom dances like swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, cumbia, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night ballroom and line dancing in San Diego. This is the best Thursday night dance in San Diego, with many types of dance. While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
