DANCE PARTY at Eastlake Thursday February 29, 2024

Hello Dancers,  

 You are invited to a DANCE PARTY this coming Thursday February 29, 2024, (yes, 2024 is a leap year) at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista, with the wonderful DJ Bing Villafuerte. There'll be lots of dancing, fun, food, and beverages. It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share. DJ Bing will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.  Another cold but dry night is currently forecast.

  DIRECTIONS: Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive.  The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.

A FEBRUARY BIRTHDAYS DANCE PARTY was at Eastlake this past Thursday, February 22nd, with DJ Bing Villafuerte, on a cool but dry night.  There were almost 50 dancers in attendance. Here are 5 photos from last Thursday's Dance Party.  Most were copied from earlier Facebook posts:

 

 

 BEFORE EATING, dancers posed for the group photo above. Nedy gave a blessing for the food, and thankfulness for bringing us all together.

 

 

 

 LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off and on with ballroom dances until 10pm. In the photo above the relatively new group, "The Friends" in blue, performed a special line dance to "Dancing Queen" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFrGuyw1V8s ).  They were Karina, Belen and Beth in front, with Connie, Nedy and Sheila in the middle, and Eden and Rei in the 3rd row.

 

 

 

BALLROOM DANCING was in abundance. Chito and Alice danced in the photo above.  It looks like it was a swing dance, maybe it was "That's What I Like" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfcrEOzWwa8 ).

 

 

 

A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION was held for February celebrants me & Remy, along with spouses Edith and Christopher, although I didn't know in advance that Remy's birthday is also in February.  The astounding cake by Veronica featured my face on the frosting.  The cake was a delicious chocolate layer cake with a cream filling between the layers.

 

 

 

A BIRTHDAY SERENADE was given to me & Remy & our spouses for us to dance, in the photo above, sung by Romy with vocal assistance from most of "The Friends" dance group.  Romy & The Friends sang "Through The Years" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJ4BHM9CgGU ).

Thursday, March 14, 2024: ST. PATRICK'S DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. Green-Irish-attired winners vie for prizes. Daylight Saving Time returns.  DJ Nickie Bascos

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night ballroom and line dancing in San Diego. This is the best Thursday night dance in San Diego, with many types of dance. While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
